I figure it would be cool to have a thread about new band discoveries.....old or new......just to kind of let each other know about bands others may have never known of.....

my band recently has been Kaizers Orchestra.....apparently they are quite popular in norway and such......but a friend of mine just turned me on to them last week....

You can call it shameless promotion of my friends, but these two bands really deserved to be mentioned and discovered...

not a new discovery for me, but im quite sure not many people know this amazing band:

    ALCHEMIST from Australia

their last two releases 'Organasm' and 'Austral Alien' are nothing less than brilliant

I saw them in Holland a time ago. Live they are quite nice, but on cd I don't really like 'em...

Canaan. Italian dark rock. I think a lot of Katatonia fans would like this band. Quite melancholic and drifting. There are a lot of full songs available for download at the samples section of Eibon Records (here).

WHOA!!! is that the norwegian seigmen?
I have heard one song from the called "slaver av solen" and i love it, but i havent found a single sign of them afterwardss, so i figured they must be some kind of demoband or something..
If it is them, please give me a preview of something more! :)

Shora - Dark, Instrumental music from denmark i believe.
HoneyChurch - Modern folk, with some orchestration added in there.

Both bands deserve more support. Do it.

I own two of their albums,Total and Radiowaves. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! I think there is another album but I don't have it. Seen them live twice, awesome performances both times. And then they split up

I have a friend who has all their cds and if I cannot find them I'll be copying hers..In the meanwhile you can try to download their stuff, it's not so difficult to find them on those shareware programs.
Check out a couple of songs on myspace:
    http://www.myspace.com/unmsseigmen

I will be probably in Sweden in october for a month, I'll write you a PM to explain you better:) so in case I can always bring with me those Cds(which actually I don't have yet!)
