Yeah, the thread title says it all. The only band that I have found is Wulfgar. Black or Death Metal, but please, no raw Black Metal, I can't stand that shit. (With some exceptions.)

    Have you tried - Unleashed?

And if you like the 'epic' story style of metal songs, try Bal-Sagoth, they're not Viking Metal, but they might have something you enjoy

Yes, they're one of my favorites. I haven't listened to them in a while, I can't believe I forgot about them.

Bathory kinda started it all with regards to the viking thing. Manowar - Sign Of The Hammer might be worth getting...dunno why, just kind of an awesome album overall.
Unleashed, definitely. Bal-Sagoth aren't actually epic because they're too cheesy, but they're really fun and awesome. You could also try The Absence for aggressive melodic death metal. The vocalist is the closest thing America has to Johan, as well.

They're pretty mediocre, though...they suck at ripping off AA.

DT are great, but their sound is nothing like AA.

Tyr are lyrically similar, but not death metal... Still worth a try. :)

Both, I really enjoy the lyrics though, because (this might sound cheesy) if I close my eyes sometimes I can visualize what is going on in the songs. But either sound or lyrical content is fine. Thanks for all the suggestions so far. :kickass:
