The AXL ROSE band is coming back to Australia:
According to The Daily Telegraph, GUNS N' ROSES will make its second trip to Australia since 1993 to appear at this year's Sydney 500 V8 Supercars street race.
Frontman Axl Rose last night confirmed the band will perform a one-off gig on Saturday, December 4, at ANZ Stadium, following the weekend's first event around the Olympic Park circuit.
"To mix GUNS with this massive Sydney event will be a blast," Rose said.
"We will be in Europe just before we head to Sydney so it will be great to come out and chill around Australia for a while, spend a bit of time getting around and soaking up the relaxed Aussie vibe.
"When we came back in 2007 it had been about 14 years between tours in Australia and we had a complete ball.
"Bring on Sydney and the V8 Supercars. Hopefully I can get a ride in one of those big beasts while I'm there."
True indeed - here is the official:
Guns N' Roses have been confirmed to rock the V8 Supercars Sydney Telstra 500 this December and Showbiz is on pre-sale now. Book now before tickets go on-sale to the general public next week.
Over 185,000 fans are expected to pack Sydney Olympic Park, where the legendary Guns N' Roses join forces with the V8 Supercars for an epic Rock 'n' Race experience.
Also appearing alongside the action-packed V8 Supercar racing at this year's Sydney Telstra 500 is the world's greatest skater, Tony Hawk. The 'master of skate' will showcase his signature moves during four heart-stopping shows.
Join the grand final fever and be there when Axl and crew burst onto ANZ Stadium for an exclusive Sydney performance. Entry to the hugely anticipated concert is included in all Grandstand Passes and Saturday event tickets.
All is not totally lost Drifter.
Should be a great night!!
Octanic have two new members playing their first show with the band.
Neck Deep are unable to play, so A Black Picture has stepped into their spot.
Only just got that info this morning via FB.
I'm hoping it won't be a late gig, because then I am heading around the corner to Enigma to catch Se Bon Ki Ra play.
It is supposed to be finishing around midnight.
DARKER HALF are onstage at 9.20pm so hope you can make it down for then at least.
Just because I'm a promo whore...
Awesome Night Train in Broken Hill ....

Uli Jon Roth
This is going to be huuuge.
And in news closer to home, the lineup so far for SOUNDWAVE 2011. The Sword the only name remotely interesting so far - the big first announcement of headliners etc will be Aug 5 I believe:
