Clash city! And Saxon from midday to 12.30pm is the most criminal fucking scheduling ever.

    Absolute fucking insult.

Apparently this is a draft and not 100% official yet.

Some talk of Slash maybe swapping with 30 Seconds to Mars. Wouldn't help me as then I'd have a Slash/Dimmu clash.

Yep, Saxon at 12 is an insult, but on the plus side at least there's no threat of a clash at that time!

I think it should be left the way it is. Slayer comes here pretty much every week while it's Dimmu's first time here (from memory and if not, it's the first time in a long time!). Might as well have less bands that'll appeal to a heavier crowd clashing with Dimmu.

Either way, I'd rather watch Slash...haha!

I want to see (haven't even got tickets yet) Maiden, Primus, Dimmu and Protest the Hero. Protest and Maiden clash, everything else gives me like hours of free time in between. Don't know if that's good or bad.

Its true Slayer comes here pretty often but when advertised as a headliner - one would have a level of expectance to actualy being able to see them along with the other Headliners...

Im suprised Slayer isnt playing on the main stages...

Well, when it's a one day festival with that many bands, there's going to be some major clashes and no matter what timetable they do, they'll never be able to please everybody unfortunately.

I'm actually pretty happy with the way the timetable turned out. I get to see full sets by Saxon, The Sword, Sevendust (for old time's sake), Primus, Monster Magnet, High on Fire, Dimmu Borgir, Slash, Rob Zombie and Iron Maiden. 10 full sets is definitely worth the price of the ticket! :)

I saw him at the Sunset Strip Music Festival, lots of GnR songs in that show and Fergie got up there and did a few songs with him which was cool.

Personally I preferred Adler's Appetite for the GnR stuff and FWIW I'd much rather watch them than the Axhole GnR show.

It's not good if there's no shade and the sun's beating down.

A similar thing with Wacken, you get exhausted seeing so many bands that you just end up doing mundane things with your time and some things have priority. I recall going to the shops & showers, etc. to bands I'd usually watch but hey, you gotta eat & take care of yourself. The sound and atmosphere was that good I didn't mind brushing my teeth listening to Gamma Ray playing a few hundred metres away.

It's a grind, the whole festival thing, when you've got nothing on that interests you at the time

That's why I'm soooooo looking forward to the 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise :D

If there are no bands on that I want to see, I can check out the ship or wander back to rest in our cabin:

Hmm... Looks like Saxon, The Sword, Social Distortion, DevilDriver, Monster Magnet, High on Fire, Dimmu Borgir, Slash, Melvins, Rob Zombie, Kylesa and Iron Maiden. Sweet. Shame Terror and MM clash, but you can't have everything.

The ship could get boring but I guess it's a short trip and with gym, eatery, pool and other entertainment (?) it would be ok and a cabin is better than a tent.

The good thing about both Wacken and Metalcamp was that you could wander into town to do your shopping and go to the pools or swim in the river respectively.

At Eastern Creek you get to sit in the sun on dry grass or for a change, go for a wander to the Port-a-loo.
