I don't know exactly... but it's probably about half the size (if not less) of the venue they played in Melbourne last time

Do you honestly think Blind Guardian will do better than somewhere like the Factory? At $70 a shot ($15 more than The Haunted and presumably more than Morbid Angel), a week after Soundwave Revolution? I don't.

According to this, the capacity is 450 !

Venue in Melbourne (Billboard) capacity is about 900.

I have a feeling this was done in an attempt to de-stablise other festivals - it's not technically "Soundwave", it's a different event.

Well I think Nik is actually doing the right thing this time and using a small room almost certain to sell out rather than a 3000 capacity place. BG may well do better than I anticipate, but they certainly aren't Enmore status.

I guess that's where our opinions would differ. I think they would go close to selling out the Enmore (albeit, I have no idea what the capacity of the Enmore is)

    Around 2000. It's a pretty big room!

 Probably the most predictable support bands, given who's promoting Blind Guardian. The Melbourne alliance strikes again!

Should be awesome though :) Always keen to see old Danny from Eyefear (who I havent seen in yonks) belt out some tunes, BM will get the job done and of course Blind Guardian will own everyone in their sights. I think the Factory is a little small for BG (probably 600-700 capacity?), but definitely not big enough to fill The Enmore completely, but I could be wrong! The Factory was probably the better choice though. Much better to be playing to a packed/sold out venue than a 1/2 filled larger venue.

I saw Darkest Hour / Carnifex a few months ago at the Factory and there where about 300-350 there. Even then the venue felt small

If it was my decision (and assuming these venues are still open) I'd go The Metro or The Forum, and drop the ticket prices by $15.

The Enmore is 3000 I believe. It's fucking vast.

Nah, 2200 max, and 1600 with just reserved seating. Not that it's a small venue by any means, mind you!

So this Metal Massacre site, and reference to Nik. Did Metal Mayhem change names or something?

Nik sold the Metal Mayhem business awhile back and started this new one instead.

Here is our (Mitch's) attempt at a Blind Guardian tour poster. I think you'll find it a little more appealing than the last one.

I have quite high expectations for this tour. I think it will do quite well. Even if the Sydney venue does sell out relatively quickly, they can always move it to a larger venue. Unless of course there is Soundwave Revolution sideshows and all the venues have been booked already?

Sideshows won't be a problem anwar. Apart from the fact that AJ has stated he is "99% sure" there will be no sideshows, the Sydney BG gig is the same date as Soundwave Revolution in Melbourne :)
