Living Colour and Alter Bridge are doing Soundwave ones together in February.
Rob Zombie and Korn are doing Sydney/Melb Soundwave sideshows too.
Spoke to GLORYHAMMER, ATROCITY/LEAVES' EYES and HAGGARD while on 70000 Tons of Metal.
Gloryhammer - have something in the planning stages for April.
Atrocity/Leaves' Eyes - currently negotiating a tour.
Haggard - definitely want to tour. Possibly with the new album. Will be difficult due to them being 15 members!
Carcass and Pungent Stench tour soon

I spoke at length with Asis (lead singer for Haggard). They have noticed a steady increase in traffic (website, sales, etc) from Australia. He is mad keen to tour here.
Even signed his autograph with a "see you in australia soon" hahaha.
As for Leaves' Eyes/Atrocity - they still have fond memories of their tour (even though if you were there, you would know that attendances were pretty poor).
I think if they toured now though things would be way different. I'm sure unless the timing truly sucked, they would get a good turnout.
Any word on who would be promoting this tour?
The numbers were a bit dire last time (we did the Sydney support) but it was a decent show regardless.
Nah Alex didn't say - I would assume that it would probably be Rockstar, but there a are few new players in the market now so it could be any of them.
We had Rev Kris Hades in Brisbane. That was.....DIFFERENT
Liv and Alex both instantly recognised the tour shirt I was wearing, as I wore the Oz tour shirt to the meet and greet. Liv excitedly thumped Alex going "Alex! Do you remember this shirt????"
And the guitarist Thorsten told me "I love that shirt, I still have that shirt, occasionally my Mum wears it even"
Looks like you Aussies will have to come to Auckland if you want to see Megadeth. What a bizarre situation!
Meanwhile, NZ sludge band Beastwars is booked to play Melbourne yet again, this time at Cherry Rock fest: http://cherrybar.com.au edit: and Sydney too - http://www.factorytheatre.com.au/events/2014/05/31/cherry-rock-2014-feat-meat-puppets-usa
Yeah what the hell's with the Megadeth cancellation? Very odd.
Just speculating but it looks like Dave gave his management a list of "approved" bands that he's OK to play with. Management misunderstood that as "if they're not on the list Dave doesn't want them on a bill with him" and told that to AJ from Soundwave who lost his shit back at management, thinking Dave was butt-hurt about Jason Newsted being on the bill (which was never the case). Things escalated, accusations flew and it ended up as "stop saying shit about us or we're not doing it", "you're not the boss of me, dare you", "fine, laters." Somewhere in the middle of that Megadeth's management was fired too so there was clearly some issues going on.
Both Dave and AJ are pretty proud people and don't suffer idiots easily - even people they mistake as idiots, and I think they both have a bit of trouble stepping back once they think they've been wronged. Real shame for everyone wanting to see Megadeth.
It seemed like AJ wasn't involved in changing the lineups, and made the mistake of speculating to the media about Dave before he knew the full story. Likewise, Dave threw accusations without knowing the full story of what his own management had done. If only Soundwave hadn't been so willing to treat Newsted like crap on request.
Long overdue for a summary of upcoming tours (I'm not including Soundwave and Sidewaves - too many to list!)
Iced Earth/Elm Street
Dark Tranquillity/Be'Lakor/Orpheus Omega
Skid Row/Ugly Kid Joe
Royal Hunt (Melb/Syd only)
Killswitch Engage/Kill Devil Hill
Stormrider Festival (Perth)
Children of Bodom
LORD mini tour in May coming up too - more details soon.
And now add Killswich to the list:
KILLSWITCH ENGAGE’s ‘Alive Or Just Breathing’ album was a watershed moment in metal in 2002 as it heralded the birth of ‘Metalcore’. Now, more than a decade later, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE have reunited with original singer Jesse Leach. "This change is very exciting," the band said upon announcing Leach's triumphant return. "We know you're going to love it. This is truly a new era in KsE history and it is ready to shred your face off.”
However, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE have never coasted on the wave of prior successes and with the band in the form of their career and Leach spitting venomous vocals at every turn, “Disarm The Descent is an overdue return, a prodigal son story and their best album since The End Of Heartache.” – Kerrang!
Most so-called "supergroups" wind up being less than the sum of their already-famous parts. KILL DEVIL HILL, featuring members from such illustrious groups as Black Sabbath, Dio, Pantera, Down and Ratt is a splendid exception to that rule.
A supergroup in the truest sense of the word, KILL DEVIL HILL created a masterpiece on its self-titled debut and have raised the bar on their new album ‘Revolution Rise’...”it is simply one ass-kicking hard rock outfit making heavy as fuck rock and roll music”. Metalholic
