Has anybody picked this up? How does it stack up against their/his previous efforts?
Personally I'm surprised the guy has so many fans. I saw them a few weeks ago & I didn't think the band were anything special but everyone was eating it up looked like. Whatever makes ya happy I reckon.
eh its not bad, i havent listened to it that much but honestly its been downhill ever since the debut
the new rarities album absolutely blows though
Pale Sketches was pretty terrible. I dont think Lifeline is going to be much better.
Jesu sounded interesting to me so I downloaded Silver. Bored me to tears and I don't see it being a grower like Drudkh or Agalloch either.
Download/buy the first album...
Whats the name of it and why is it substantially better.
Its self titled. Its better because it is much more metal and less shoegazy and lately Broadrick has been getting a bit to artsy and has quality control on his releases.
I actually liked the direction on Conqueror, but I haven't heard the new one yet...
Its not bad, just not has good has the first one.
I wont take your word for it.
Conqueror was horrible, in my opinion. The s/t is brilliant.
I decided to buy it earlier today. Conquer was disappointing but I wouldn't call it horrible. To each his own I guess. I'll listen to it later on.
Horrible is a bit of exaggeration. I did not see anything that was that bad about it expect it did not have the addicting listening factor has the first one. No major flaws.
Except it sounds more like poppy bullshit...
Well makes sense. I like pop element.
I highly enjoyed (and better respected...) the extreme minimalist shoegaze/droning approach on the s/t...
I like all his material.
I don't. I found it really tedious. One of the songs I heard was over 10 minutes and literally had two riffs.
