I'll be picking this up when I get the chance. I've been a big fan of Stu Block for years (since he was in Into Eternity). Funnily enough, at first listen it sort of sounds like some of the songs are duets between Barlow and Ripper

Vallenfyre - A Fragile King arrived in the post today along with Th1rt3en and Lulu.

I've only listened to it twice through so far but I can tell it's going to get a lot of plays. Check it out if you like that old school death metal sound!

I haven't listened to this one yet - hoping to get around to it on the weekend. I loved the last album and bought this due to the positive reviews I've been seeing. Amazon UK had this edition for about $13 or so.

I was quite impressed by it. I had an advanced listen last month and really dug it. I'll have to pick it up in my next haul.

I found the single impossible to listen to, hopefully it grows on me. The Blackening was awesome, i still regularly listen to it.

As for Machine Head, it didn't hit me as immediately as The Blackening. Still very solid from what I heard with some 'very' good songs on it.

needed retail therapy so went out and picked up Pain of Salvation - Road Salt part 2 and Nightwish - Imaginaerum double CD version (original and orchestrated like their last album).

Haven't heard anything about or from the new PoS album but already listened to Nightwish and think that it's awesome, apaart from the last half of the 2nd last track with all the Pink Floyd style talking.

Got my copy of the new nightwish earlier in the week too. Fantastic. Couple of the songs gave me goosebumps on first listen.

Also got the new live Sonata Arctica. CDs are excellent - really looking forward to watching the dvds.

New nightwish did nothing for me. I was so disappointed. I was even sitting here nursing my Washburn CS780 (the guitar Wishmaster was recorded with) all jiggly....and slowly got bored....Have tried it again since and it just didnt grab me. Even DPP had some small glimpses of hope :( Hopefully the movie makes up for this.

I told you Lord should have done a Wiggles song. The thing about Wiggles songs is that a lot of them are actually pretty good music by themselves. So the bands doing cover versions for the album didn't have too much work to do. But the album isn't bad, but maybe you need to have kids to enjoy it, I don't know, these days non-parenthood is a foreign country, one without a single McDonalds.

I'd really appreciate your thoughts on that one - they are playing on the 70000 Tons of Metal cruise and I've never ever listened to 'em before. Been wondering if I should check out one of their two sets if I get a chance ....
