Ooh! The Icehouse one looks good! I assume it's a remaster?

'Masterfile is a Audiophile compilation album by Australian rock band, Icehouse. It is the second compilation released by the band following 1989's "Great Southern Land". The album covers material from the band's first album "Icehouse" to 1986's "Measure for Measure". It also features a re-recorded version of their 1981 single "Love In Motion" with Christina Amphlett of Divinyls.'

    It's the original 1992 pressing :)

I read that, but the term Audiophile suggests that it's been remastered with higher resolution than what was available on CD before, like what we did with the Ascendence Audiophile version (which was so fucking successful it made baby Jesus cry. *cough* :err: ). But either way, great collection of songs. :)

Just brought the self-titled album from the Aristocrats, an instrumental trio featuring Guthrie Govan, Bryan Beller and Marco Minnemann. Some seriously great musicianship here. While there's some unavoidable guitar wank at times, it's definitely tolerable and the group just play so flawlessly together. Very live sounding, no overdubs as far as I can hear, just a guitar bass and drums jamming it out for an hour.

    Definitely worth a listen!

Hmm they're pretty varied. Maybe "Bad Asteroid" or "Boing... I'm in the Back".

Also it's worth noting that while I purchased the studio version, there's also an official live album that sounds great as well. The performance is just as good and at times I prefer the true "live" sound.

Are CDs still the preferred format these days or should you consider editing your thread title?

Most of the bands I'm into have been unproductive lately. So far I've only spilled my money for NZ music in 2014:

    Hirsute - Still Waiting (death/doom)
Sinistrous Diabolus - Total Doom // Desecration (death/doom)
Labretta Suede and the Motel 6 - Dirty & Dumb (garage rock/rockabilly)

The only actual CD I've bought so far, although the tracks are free to download:
Chronic Fatigue Sindrome - Both of Us Could Die (noise)

i recently bought about 250 vinyl records (mostly 80's metal i think) from my mate who has moved to California.I already have over 100 records and haven't had time to go through this new collection yet but it looks like there are only a few albums in his collection that are ones i already have.

By the way, if anyone is looking for vinyl i highly recommend the Glebe Record Fair which is held twice a year. The next one is on Sat 12th April.

At the last record fair i picked up Ac/Dc High Voltage and The Baby Animals debut album. one album i am looking for is Metallica Kill Em All.
