looking at the following products to determine what will do the trick. just trying to connect front of house with reasonable quality and low noise. http://www.music-group.com/Categories/Behringer/Computer-Audio/Audio-Interfaces/UCA222/p/P0A31 $50.00 (RCA outs only) http://peavey.com/products/index.cfm/item/875/117099/USB-PUSBPlayback $80.00 (No Headphone ) http://www.radialeng.com/usbpro.php $250 (Expensive) All very different price points, and i do get the differences between them. But at the end of the day wouldnt the behringer get the job done, and if noise happens to be a huge issue i could put a cheap di in between? Hope this makes sense, cheers guys.
Yeah I always just see people using a cheap two channel interface (typically a focusrite), or on some occasions a behringer xenyx or equivalent mixer.
Been using a Babyface for years - hasn't failed me yet. They're not too expensive on the used market.
Go with an interface. Other solutions are hugely prone to channel crosstalk, and thus. Click track coming through the foh.
I needed to rig something without having any cash and ending up using a headphone amp I had lying around. Went like this: Ipad - 1/8"-1/4" stereo cable to headphone amp input, one headphone out was for drummer (click+synth in one ear, synth only in other) and separate headphone out used a 1/4" stereo to dual 1/4" mono cable and just marked which side was synth only for FOH. No issues and drummer can adjust his channel without effecting the one going to FOH.
