wait...no metallibash yet!?
moar like Lords of Bummer lololololol
this make looks every song on black album a complex piece of art and innovation
You can tell that it's a really progressive song just by looking at song's length. Such an awesome and forward thinking song.
Those drums sound too tight and on grid. Are those programmed?
These riffs are mind blowing.
I hope the last posts are being ironic ^^
In all seriousness though, this song is utterly uninspiring and boring. And the lenght.... Why do they feel that they have to push the songs 6+ mins when there's clearly nothing to push? Boring riffs with barely mediocre ideas in general, nothing to write home about (only, that it sucks so bad!).
I can't recall though, was there any wah-action at all?? :O
It sounds like a riff collection-tape. Nothing really goes together as it is. Vocals are horrible. Anyone know if this is a live-in-the-studio recording?
Its been downhill since S&M really, and I stopped listening to albums around st anger time. I'll always check out what they have going on though, it's just lacked energy/conviction/muscianship/production quality since the dizzy heights they worked up to in the early 90's. Where does any band go after realeasing something as monumental as the black album though.
Nice little harmony in the solo !
S&M, really? That recent?
It just kills it when all the whoa-ah! yeah-heah! Whoa-yeah-heah-uh! comes in. James, the 80's have been over for a while now, no need to do the womauwn shamon shit anymore-ah!
I think it pretty much kicks ass. Hetfield's high notes don't sound too great and like their other new albums they seem to turn what should be 4 minute songs into 8 minute songs.
For an early-on demo-ish sounding bunch of riffs, it's really not that bad imo. Has a slightly Kill 'Em All vibe to it musically...but dem vocals man. Fucking kill it every time. Fran-tick tick tick tick tock!!! Hell even Lars' drumming doesn't bother me so much here as much as those goddamn lyrics and singing.
^ cant agree, this isnt good enough even for a demo. If they really listened to what their mates are doing in the style, like the last album of Testament, Exodus, even the last Anthrax is almost gold compared to this and I didnt like it. They would be ashamed to put something so painful like this.
It´s ironic bit this sounds like a crap ideia for their 1 album, kill em all. :zombie:
Like with the last albums nobody would take note of that if it wasn't Metallica.
i actually like the riffing, can't stand the vocals though, so boring and uninspired...
Srsly though, I think I read somewhere that they use to do that now, they throw everything together and see if it works.
I think this is just a WIP song state.
Some of the instrumental parts are pretty cool me thinks.
Mix is better than the last few albums too haha
Not sure if even Sneap could save this. Until James starts singing old school style again then, correct, it is Meh-'tallica.
not sure why all the hate... seems to me like they are heading further in the right direction. is it as good as the 80s? will it ever be as good as the 80s? sadly, like coke and hookers, the answer is a resounding no.
