    Guys,

I've finally gotten around to making a site for a long-time project that I've been toying with on and off for quite a few years. Check it out here:

    http://www.lord.net.au/clarity

Basically, it's a little like how LORD was when Dungeon was the main project - stuff that wouldn't necessarily work for the main project. There's a couple of big differences though:

Firstly, unlike how LORD was with Dungeon, this isn't really an outlet for personal songs that I don't feel comfortable contributing to the main project. LORD's scope is big enough to cater for pretty much anything. The key there being "pretty much" - as broad as the styles we do are, there's still a point where it stops sounding like music by the same band, and with Clarity I intend to pass that point whenever I feel the need. There's gonna be stuff that's pure 80s pop/rock, orchestral scores, whatever I feel like.

Next, this is not really intending on being a new band I want to take out live or replace LORD with. The point of it is that making whole albums kills you and sometimes it's nice to pump out a song when you feel the creativity, and sometimes you just want to work with a different singer or guitarist or drummer or whatever, to the point where it would seem odd to have the amount of guest contributions on a LORD album. (EG: How weird would it be to have a guest singer do more than half of a LORD album? Or how about a guitarist do all of the solos on a couple of songs? It doesn't seem right).

There will be no albums or EPs or anything - it's song by song, and whenever I feel like doing it. And the best thing? IT'S ALL FREE!

Everything I'll put up on the site is absolutely free, but if you like the stuff, I encourage you to donate whatever you think my time is worth for that song (or you can just donate to the project in general). Or not. If you don't want to, congrats - you have a bunch of free music to enjoy, no catches.

Anyway, it's all up on the site to read about.

The first song I've put up is that metal Doctor Who theme I did a while back with TY:

Plenty more stuff to come - hope you guys like it! :)

I look forward to any 80's pop stuff you do. I'll be sure to donate some funds into this project eventually.

With that outfit you're sporting, LT, it suggests to me you're going to have a crack at some of the Matrix soundtrack. Wake Up by RATM, perhaps? :D

Honestly, anything is open to what I may do - there's actually an electronica collaboration that's been talked about with someone which would be a lot of fun. Not something I could do a lot of, but it would be interesting as a once-off thing nonetheless. :)

If you happen to want any guest vocals from unknown Australian metal musicians, I'll do some :p Just throwing it out there.

There should be a couple of new ones up on there soon, actually. There's an instrumental pop/rock thing I'm demoing tonight, a totally cheezy 80s hard rock thing (think Roxus meets Nelson :D ), and a song called "So Close (And Yet So Far)" that that Croatian all-girl band Angels covered on their last album - I'll be doing it how it was originally written. About 4 or 5 others not far behind this lot too, but no rush to get 'em out. I want to enjoy the process this time. :)

When I met you for the first time in early 93(!), you played me some AOR stuff you'd been working on and I remember commenting that I heard a Nelson vibe! Are you bringing out closet classics for this stuff or writing new stuff?

As a matter of fact, yes - there's some really old Dungeon stuff I'm reworking for this project that I may have played you back in the day. Some of it will be up really soon, actually. :)

Ah crap, I had a feeling it wasn't just a generic "donate to the project" button that I made for each page. Fixed now!

Man, thank you so much for your donation! It means a lot! :)

FLAC version of the song is now online!
