I'm still tossing up whether to buy tickets or not... with the wedding two days away, we really CAN'T afford it, and we're not massive Maiden fans. But still.... it's Iron 'fucking Maiden

As has happened before, ebay will let the sale go through and then ticketek will cancel the tickets. The poor bastard who now owns the ebay-bought tickets is fucked and the seller is cheering

    Excuse my ignorance but:
    1. Wouldn't the person who bid at the very least say that they couldn't get in resulting in negative feedback?
    2. The specific seat numbers aren't listed on the sellers page. How would the seats be blocked?

(again, just trying to find out. I don't know how the process works)

Thanks heaps to Gary for getting me a gold floor ticket for the second show. :)

So most if not all of those tickets on eBay will be useless and they'll have to resell them, correct?

Thats insane, I thought Ticketek had the power to take these tickets off eBay and resell them to the public.

I didn't realise re-selling was such a taboo issue here. I thought it was being smart and getting something back for all the times you've had to buy inflated tickets yourself?

They started cracking down because people where buying insane amounts of tickets just to resell after the shows sell out. It makes it impossible for people to get a "fair go" at getting tickets

I don't see the comments thus far showing that it's a taboo subject. Me personally, I find the subject fascinating and I'm just trying to understand it better from a legal and moral standpoint. Never said it was unjust or wrong (not yet, anyway heh-heh).

I think I read somewhere that if you sell the tickets on Ebay and the starting price is lower or equal to the price you paid for them then its legal and there are no problems.

If you blatantly put the price to a ridiculous amount though it is a problem.

Thanks for the warning. I've got a mate who is willing to pay up to $200 for a Gold floor ticket for Melbourne, Wednesday night, so I've just started doing the rounds for him.

Do you know if the same rule applies if it sold for cost price on Ebay?

Edit: Falkor answers question, whilst Drifter stumbles around learning how to use quotes.

    Cheers.

Hmmm... I was just talking about this with TY...

Can you imagine the amount of money they're gonna make from this tour?

OK, so the first Melbourne and Sydney show has sold out now. That's about 30,000 tickets. Let's say on average that they're making $100 a ticket after hire costs etc. are taken out. That's $3,000,000 - three million dollars!

Then you also now have the second Melbourne and Sydney shows, Perth, Brisbane and no doubt a ridiculous amount of merch...

    Cleaning the fuck up! :guh:

I bet they're kicking themselves for not coming here sooner... ;)

problem is, $3,000,000au works out to about 14 pounds. and that's pretty hard to divide between 6!

Who knows, maybe now that they've got their own plane and whatnot, they could be back down before we know it! :p

MELBOURNE, Sept 27 AAP - Heavy metal band Iron Maiden has announced a second show in Melbourne after tickets for its first comeback concert sold out in 25 minutes.
The British rockers will kick off the Australian leg of their Somewhere Back in Time world tour in Perth on February 4 before flying to Melbourne.
Promoters added the second Melbourne date after tickets to the band's initial show, on February 6 at Rod Laver Arena, were snapped up within half an hour.
The seven-week world tour will see Iron Maiden play 20 cities on five continents and will be its first Australian tour in 15 years.
And if rapid ticket sales weren't enough, the band and its 60-strong entourage will also chalk up a historic first as the first group to fly in a specially converted and decorated Astraeus Boeing 757 piloted by lead singer Bruce Dickinson.
After Melbourne, the band moves onto Sydney, then Brisbane.
