Reamping a metal track with the Mesa Boogie Studio Preamp going into a Mesa Boogie Stereo 2:Fifty. Thanks to Lasse Lammert for providing the D.I. tracks!

Always wondered about the Studio Pre.....it's based off of a Mark 3 or 4 or something?

Its based on the Mark IIC+ preamp circuit.

It's not based onMark IIC+ as there's a mod you can do to get it to sound like one.

You are right, there is indeed a mod you can do to actually make the Studio Pre sound like a Mark IIC+. So, maybe there is a missunderstanding but in my idea the circuit of the Studio Pre comes pretty close to the preamp circuit of the Mark IIC+, so I called it "based on" the Mark IIC+, but off course its not exactly the same circuit ;-)

It sounds really good. I was pleasantly surprised by that torpedo. What kind of neon did you put in your rack ? It looks great !

Thank you very much. Its basically nothing more than 2 LED light packs, which I bought from IKEA ;-) They can change the color as well :p

It's the same preamp as is in the .50 Caliber series.
