I like Sanctuary's cover of White Rabbit, and Realm's cover of Eleanor Rigsby, I actually found a copy of Endless War a few months back..

I guarantee Tool got permission from the Zep dudes to change the lyrics so calm down 'bout that. They also didn't fit with the mood of the cover so I comprehend why Maynard wanted to change them. IMO it would sound wrong referencing Thor with the very desolate and claustrophobic sound of the cover for some reason.

My favorite cover is definitely Novembre - The Promise (Arcadia cover)...they fucking nail that. Nothing on Materia is even close to as good as that song!

Ten Masked Men - Oops, I did it again

Death Metal version of it. :p

Ten Masked Men - Cry Me A River

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVLAZtAcUBk&feature=related[/ame]

    Another Death Metal version.

Ten Masked Men - Genie in a Bottle

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ebIW8S4jq4&feature=related[/ame]

    Yet another Death Metal version...

    Ten Masked Men - Thriller

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwB56pv44Ys&feature=related[/ame]

    Last one, promise.

Not really a cover, but something I found amusing.

    Oh I just remembered.

    8 Bit Mayhem

They're working on a new album, Filosofamicom. I can't wait for that, it'll be just as awesome as De Mysteriis dom Supernes was.

    Though, they cover metal songs.

    :D

    Not reading the thread
    Amorphis - Light My Fire
Celtic Frost - Mexican Radio (why the fuck does this start the album?)
    3 - Emily Plays
CoB - Oops I Did It Again, The Final Countdown (they also covered Fear Of The Dark, those 3 are the only Bodom songs I can be bothered to listen to)
Megadeth - These Boots Are Made For Walking (I think they got sued)
In Flames - Everything Counts (bears shockingly little resemblence to the original)
Pantera did planet caravan, which is by sabbath but not really metal, their version is very similar but slightly worse than the original.
Odin's Court did Ode To Joy and Savatage covered Hall Of The Mountain King (they called it Prelude To Madness)

How about non-metal bands covering metal songs? I saw that lounge cover of Cannibal Corpse and it fucking owned.

The Cardigans - War Pigs is a non-metal band covering a metal song. The quality can be debated tho. :p
