Let's all compare notes on bands that you think shaped what metal is today, and that will be remembered forever!

**DO NOT REPOST BANDS! QUOTE THE ORIGINAL IF YOU AGREE! REPOSTING AND REREADING REPOSTS GETS A LITTLE AGGRAVATING!**

To start this off, I'll go ahead and name the first two that are on everyone's tongue.

(Band Logos make this thread cooler, so if you can get it, post it!!)

Motörhead is quite simply the best heavy metal band ever.

A shame, seeing as they released better albums than The Warning in 1986, 88, 90 and 94...

I just prefer their early metal output.

Try Overnight Sensation, it's a fucking brilliant album with a bit more going on than most other 'head albums...

Do you think so? As along time Motorhead fan, I found OS along their "weak" albums line. From their post Wurzel albums I like the most "Inferno" and "We Are Motorhead".

But I understand 103 feelings, I have discovered that even among true 100 % metalheads Motorhead is definitively an acquired taste.

I just got Vicious Robbie into them and not completely.
