Back in "the day" it would have been mead, but think more modern...who actually drinks mead anymore? I mean on a regular basis...sure there's plenty out there that do it for wiccan rituals, and stuff...

So the stuffs that happens in their lyrics, thats happening now? In 2003, or when they wrote it?

I think its supposed to be back in the good, old days.

And, its hard for me to imagine that Hegg (or he who wrote it) would miss to put mead instead of beer.

    Huh?!
    I regularly drink mead...

Only for rituals and stuff? Okay, when you consider RPG-evenings as a ritual then you're right;) No, I drink it whenever its possible and it fits to the atmosphere:)

That's right, buying beer is much faster but beer isn't as good as mead in my eyes:)

Mead is nice. It's a bit to sweet to drink enormous quantities of, but one or two bottles can always find their way down :)
Costs 15 sek. ($1 < 15 sek. < $2) at Systembolaget for 0.5 liter, not much worse than beer. And not a bit harder to buy :p

Eisbär, wasn't too sure about some people's cultures, as I haven't had a chance to learn about them, so I didn't know that some people actually drink it more than once in a while. 'ts All good.

    Jupp:)

Perhaps in Sweden, but in Germany you don't get it from everywhere:(
I know some addresses, but its not like going to the next super-market and buy a bottle...quite shitty:)

Its okay. It wasn't meant as a kind of insult or stuff. Only wondered a bit, that's all:)
Its always nice having my horn filled with mead while listening to AA or Thyrfing and hang around with some friends:)

Johnny of Unleashed used to drink from one while on stage at every Live show. What was inside I'm note sure, but I think it was something very fattening.

    Blots?
Never was on one, so no experience with it...and I avoid such things, 'cuz in my enviroment Germanic stuff is linked with NS shit (not everyone who is interested in this here is a n., but its not uncommon). So I don't want to slip into a group where I have the feeling having to kill somebody...
And, now be honest, would you take a 15 years old teen(kid...whatever you want) to such an event?
Perhaps I would take part in a blot when I know the people who go to it a bit better.

Lets get things straight. I know some other guys and they are at least a bit in this N-stuff and I hate people who associate this topic with this N-bla.

I think everybody on this board knows that I have problems with it, but my surrounding taught me to be careful.

Yeah...one of my re-enactment fighting "trainers" have one of those too ;)

But nothing beats the blowing horn!
Ahh the sound of a horn in battle...sends chills down the back of your enemies and strengthens the moral of your men :)

In my re-enactment group, we are currently discussing the use of banners in combat, and of course we then want to combine the banner with horns and war-drums :)
    Really looking forward to that!
