mickrich, it seems to me that all your mixes have a bit treble-addicted guitars. Probably, add some meat to the rythm-guitars?
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/28110505/Deliverance2.mp3 I tried to make the guitars sound more like in the original record
Here's my attempt. I used TSE X50! https://dl.dropbox.com/u/29437721/Deliverance.mp3 NOTE: This was done on laptop speakers, so sorry for the poor mix haha
matt6g, hi! I think your mix make some pressure on the ears. May be it would be good to reduce some gain on mastering limiter or rate on the compressor. Guitars may contain some boxy mids on my taste. As for the rest, it's pretty good to me.
thanks for di's man! fun to mix! i am on laptop with headphones and fl studio.. lol my 30minutes shitty mix: https://www.dropbox.com/s/dkirydh8oifz0h7/deliverance-headphones.mp3
Had another run at this today. TS808>Triple Rectifier>recto cab>57 and m201>ISA https://dl.dropbox.com/u/2133088/Deliv2013.mp3
Thanks. I only like my guitars and snare, not happy with the mix, I still have trouble with low end mixing on pc speakers. The amp sim is tse x50 beta, I totally aimed for that nasal sound and I think it would sound ten times better with a bigger and controlled bass. Im impressed that your mix is super loud and clean at the same time, it sounds sick.
Thanks! I usually get concerned with my mastering skillz haha Cheers Mick! I always make my own samples for things...blend the shit out of everything until it sounds good is my motto! I got another Recto cabinet recently and blew the tone I got in the OP video out of the water....might have to give it another shot for the lulz sometime.
Did you know Andy mixed Deliverance? I personally think Deliverance is one of the best sounding metal albums.
Andy had to polish it up aswell from what I heard it was quite badly recorded originally. Kudos to Andy!
One year late to the party, but I was searching good DIs for testing stuff. Thanks Jaymz. Anyway, here is my mix! https://db.tt/ReLIJdZt
