Hey guys, new to this forum but I prominent in a few others. I've been producing for a while but my songs were always externally mixed and mastered by another person. Basically I'm trying to mix everything for myself now and I'm having a difficult time. Drums don't sit right with guitars, drums arent loud enough, when they are loud they distort etc. So what I'm wondering is where did you guys learn to mix? What were some great websites books etc that really helped you understand and step your game up? Thanks!

A clip of your work would be really helpful if you're looking for specific advice. Personally, I learned from a couple of friends who had little more experience than me at the time, a couple of internships at california-based recording studios, a multitude of websites like this one and a whole lot of trial and error.
