    Oh. Hello.

I figured it might be nice to talk about music.

    Put down the knife.

I'm actually looking for suggestions in the way of new music. Fall/winter is usually my times to find new music, as winter in the midwest United States gets so bad and grey you'd slit your own throat just to see color. So.

I realize there are things like Pandora, last.fm, and Spotify out there. Unfortunately, I end up having to wade through complete shit before I find one "similar artist" I like. Besides, I trust most of you when it comes to good music. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for the following genres.

Instrumental metal. Nothing too wanky. No Liquid Tension Experiment.

Ambient stuff. Think Explosions in the Sky or Boards of Canada.

    Ambient metal. Think Pelican.

    Electro.

    Any help is appreciated.

First off, there is a thread with A TON of suggestions like you asked. Its a huge thread so you'll have to dig, but it has everything you are looking for.

    http://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/cob-off-topic/423802-non-metal-music-stuffs-recommendations.html

The last half I think you'll find more electro / DnB / Dubstep stuff, where the front half is more Post-Rock, folk, and ambient stuff... but that would just be a generalization based on the music fads I went through from 2008 - 2011 :p

Yeah I fell in love with this song the first time you put it up, the whole album is awesome.
