    1. Quo Vadis - Defiant Imagination
    I hadn't listened to the album in a couple of years and it still sounds fresh to this day! ( can't say that about too many records nowadays)
    2. James Labrie - Static Impulse - great mix of Swedish melodic death and James's prog vocals, I don't mind the pop sounding songs either
    3. Dimmu Borgir - Abrahadabra
    4. Therion - Sitra Ahra - new lineup, lots of great songs / choirs
    5. Disturbed - Asylum - easy listening but very well written songs, the song about the holocaust has some pretty strong lyrics
    6. Dir En Grey - Uroboros - very original Japanese band, I'm still having mixed feelings about them but most of this album is great, can't really classify them... just check this video out, the opening riff is awesome:

    Listening to the new Obscura... great playing but the songs just don't do much for me... no feeling. Yeah, it's technical and all and they're quite proficient but still. Technical for the sake of it.
