Opinions on this album? I tried to listen to a track or two but it didn't really capture me. Worth pushing through

On that note, what the hell is this thread even. I've been trying to figure out since I started coming on here

I already wrote down my first impression in the Progressive Metal-topic. Another two spins - one with and one without headphones - confirm my impression. I'd say that those who expect something in the vein of the first two albums, thus more complex stuff, will probably be disappointed. But those who like(d) Psychotic Waltz also because of the atmosphere and the melodies/(guitar) harmonies of their songs, should give it a try.

    Some of my faves are:

(I especially like the guitar solos at 3:33 and 4:10)

(I really like the flute parts on this song starting at about 2:26 and 3:14)

Lol, it's almost like that could have been easily spelled out. That makes a lot more sense now

Ataraxie. Really good funeral doom. Has a few different vocal approaches.

Délice. The type of melodic and romantic depressive black metal I can enjoy.

Listening to this all the way through for the first time in at least 15 years. I'd forgotten how fucking great Hoglan's performance is here. Good stuff.
