Discuss all things NWOBHM here. Post your favorites. Post awesome obscure stuff. I dare say maybe we should keep the Maiden discussion to a minimum for sanity's sake.

I'll edit some YouTube links in, or just post some later today.

Last couple months I've been obsessed with the first two Tokyo Blade albums. Put off listening to them for a long time because of hard rock tags and middling friend ratings on RYM but when I finally got around to it my expectations were far exceeded. The debut is giving Angel Witch a run for the title of my favorite NWOBHM album.

The second album has a more proficient vocalist but also more filler. It's worse on the whole I'd say, but still has some killer songs on it:

Just a few of my favourites right now. Unfortunately the best song from the Battleaxe album isn't on youtube. It's called "Battleaxe."

I've been looking around for that Tysondog album. Best bet looks direct from the band.

One of my favourite Angel Witch songs. Super underrated.

A couple of others I don't see mentioned often.

The eternal problem for swedes with Tröjan is that it is hard to take them seriously when it means "The shirt" in swedish.

I have an original pressing of that Tysondog album, funnily enough it only cost like $5 from a second-hand record store that mostly has a customer base of old people obsessed with Elvis and country music.

I've been a fan of Satanic Rites' first album for years...

Love how the singer shreds his vocal chords on this song...

First time hearing Satanic Rites. Good stuff. I should really pay more attention to Witchfynde, I've owned that record for years.

I need to listen to Dark Star because they're on my list of bands with songs inspired by Michael Moorcock.
