YES, this is exactly what I was coming here to post. I listened to the CD for the first time in my car this week and I've got a decent sound system there. This CD is a huge muddy, muffled mess. The acoustic songs are almost listenable, but everything else is un-listenable. I'm not a production snob, but this thing sounds terrible in my car. It's like the producer just turned everything up to 11. I can't make out any individual parts, it's just mush. I can't even tell if the music is progressive anymore because I can't hear anything. I like prog rock too so I've continued to buy Opeth's recent disks and enjoyed them for what they were but this is the first disk that is so un-listenable the band is now kicked off my "blind buy" list.

Went to the Sorceress tour show in early October and really enjoyed it. For me, Opeth is more of a live experience band rather than a CD listening band [exception: Blackwater Park]. I just enjoy watching them play, and Mikael's sense of humor is always great. This time I really noticed the light shows, especially during Devil's Orchard - it was quite cool!
