Wild, didn't see that coming at all. Really a huge fan of his playing, he was such a perfect fit for Opeth. Seriously WTF was up with this week...

saw it on bbmouth a while back. really sad. hope they get a suitable replacement. so far they've been doing good with finding replacements i think.
and whats up with all the recent departures of band members? they're all starting a band or what??

    roy khan - vocals
    jeff loomis - guitar
    kk - guitar
    per - keyboards
    van williams - drums

missing a bass player for a kickass lineup here.

I really like hid work in Cradle, LOVE his work on My Dying Bride in both keys and violin, but god please no, completely not what Per was nor what Opeth needs on keyboards. Cheesy piano lines and heavy orchestra no, groovey organ yes

Jon Lord!!! :kickass: We all know how much Mike loves Deep Purple and Whitesnake...

Seriously though, I'd put up there Carl Westholm formerly of Candlemass (the psych doom period), Krux, Abstrakt Algebra, and Jupiter society!!! Would be a perfect fit in my opinion, being Swedish and also Mike being a Candlemass fan. Also Fredrik and Per currently play in Krux, that should help too.
