Thanks! I like the look of those. Will hunt them down.
Had asked about clean vocal doom style bands before, well my mate Kurt (former soundguy for RockApe & The Basement) linked up this guys on Facebook earlier.
The Veil from Sydney.
never hard of them before other than an uttered name but this track is amazing.
will buy albums when I can!
The Veil are cool. Been around for a few years now.
Is there a rationale for going with 2.1 as opposed to 5.1 and above for PC?
My mate who is hell tech savvy just sorted himself out with a 2.1 setup and I was always under the impression that more is more... although now I am not sure!!
What's the verdict?
Just IMHO, the extra buggering about and wires not worth the effort. Buying a wireless system which can be calibrated too costly.
I've always found 5.1 a hassle because you need the space behind you to set up the surround speakers but also have them set so that you aren't tripping over wires.
It's a lot harder to get 5.1 PC speakers these days for that reason. the other being that more people plug their PCs into their TVs & surround sound systems for that experience rather than sit at the desk.
Yeah that's pretty much why I thought I might as well get 2.1. I'm currently using a cheap set of 5.1 speakers, and the extra speakers just sit to the left and right of the others, rather than behind me, so they're wasted. Ideally I'd have them mounted on the wall behind me or something, but it's not really worth the effort. I mainly use them for music anyway.
I've recently gotten back into play Trading/Collectable Card Games like Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh & a new one called Weiss Schwarz, so was wondering if anyone here has Magic or Yu-Gi-Oh cards lying around that they no longer want.
Let us know & we'll sort something out.
Can't help you there but has the arse end fallen out of the trading card market?
I remember when cards were a big deal in the 90's; one of my friends spent a small fortune collecting them back then, he even had old football cards he collected from his school days; probably not the best investment but I guess he admires his collection if he still has them.
The market is still pretty full on.
I've got one card worth $25 AUSD, another worth up to $60 (with the price climbing steadily).
It's a market that goes up & down but some cards are worth a heap -others are worth fuck all.
Yeah, there's always the rare cards that make you keep buying more cards till you get them.
I remember seeing schoolkids on train platforms with folders full of pages of card sleeves, something I haven't witnessed in over a decade.
In my day most just had them wrapped in an elastic band and played games with them; tossing them to see who could get furthest or 'closest to the wall'. The winner would keep all the cards in that round but they were usually damaged, lol.
I've still got a folder of 90s basketball cards... Jordan, Shaq, Longley, Magic, Bol, Barkley, Rodman D) etc. Mostly Upper Deck, but some Fleers and Skybox as well.
lol, I recently bought one of the Corgi models of the Blakes 7 starship still in its packaging- it was a toy I had as a kid.
I just received a huge box of Magic The Gathering cards from a friend.
Taking me ages to sort through them though.
I have thousands of cards. Probably about 30 full sets and folders full of insert cards. I was slightly obsessed in the 90s...
Sports cards, nerd collectors cards or Magic the Gathering stuff?
You might want to price it up because a mint collection can go for a hefty price these days.
This is pretty gold. Reckon even Ebenezer Scrooge would crack a smile a few minutes in.
NBA cards only
You might want to check around online how much they may be worth, because a complete near mint collection can go for a lot to the right collector.
