Is there anyone here who likes Porcupine Tree, Riverside or progressive in general?
Opeth, that's it.
I like plenty of proggy stuff.
The new Textures is amazing, so is the new Canvas Solaris (at times). For progressive rock stuff, I like Ozric Tentacles, Tool, some Dredg, Kansas, etc. I also have been digging Persefone's new album and Koyaanisqatsy's album lately.
My favorite Prog band lately would have to be The Tangent. I also listen to older Prog such as Rush, Genesis, Journey, Floyd, etc. Some modern stuff I enjoy is Tool, Riverside, and I think Porcupine Tree are pretty decent band.
to be honest, i dont listen to much pregressive stuff. opeth is alright, but its not like i have listened to the much.....
I enjoy a fair amount
I like progressive metal that is well-balanced and does not come off as pretentious.
I'm a huge fan of prog. I like Symphony X, Dream Theater, Opeth, Spock's Beard, OSI, Liquid Tension Experiment, Tiles, etc.....
Opeth were great a few years back.
Mar De Grises >> Opeth.
Avantgarde >> progressive.
They were good, but in my opinion, they've gotten better.
I like Porcupine Tree.
That Riverside band sounds really unoriginal. It's a total ripoff of mid-era Anathema.
Love progressive music (of various sorts). As for Porcupine Tree and Riverside, they're great.
Lately I've mostly been into the more avant-garde side of prog though.
Agreed. Ghost Reveries was an excellent album.
Most prog is ghey.
Dan Swanoe, Edge Of Sanity, Unmoored, Opeth and Pain of Salvation.
That's what comes into mind now atleast.
people should listen to alchemist. start with organasm. its orgasmic!
Prog metal is my primary genre. I like almost all of them:
though Porcupine Tree is not metal IMO...
More Psychedelic Space Rock/ Art Rock. They never seem to stick to a particular genre, like Rush.
I also love classic progressive music:
I love the songs solarburn and eve of the war. great live band too
thank god. another alchemist fan. i was starting to think i was the only one who liked them (here at least). totally agree with your comments too.
