You can do it anyway you like, you can just quest and run when a rift spawns. You can stay and fight it out, or you can just PVP ... up to you

You don't HAVE to do mouse clicking, the entire interface is customizable any way you like and you can assign keys without add on's.

Read the instructions and read up about the game before making such bold statements ;)

it still looks very stiff, oh i am attacking and doing the same
movement over and over again, nothing has changed in the last 10 years.

damn, how about a fighting system
where you can swing your weapon while holding whatever button
and moving the mouse from left to right or up and down,
would be much more fun to fight that way than just pressing
    buttons that trigger certain attacks...

    cheers

As tempting as this is I'm gonna hold out for GW 2 , looks 10000000x better and it actually looks like a game that is trying to change the typical MMOs aaaaaaand it's free

I too have played every MMO there is... not quite... the newest is LotRO but everything before that. And WoW is still the best. I bought the Rift Special Edition the moment I got home. Loading right now and should be done with about 30 mins before going to work.

The idea I have with playing so many MMOs (or at least trying) is I love jumping in the first time and learning the game, exploring, etc. Once I get to the endgame I usually get bored of raiding pretty damn quick and will NEVER make an alt unless I can just make him at lvl 60 or whatever the cap is.

I hate going through content again and I hate repeating the same task over and over but that first time through is gold.

Holy shit. This is TEH MMO I have been waiting for. I have played all second gen and a few third and nothing compares to this.

Sure I am only lvl 10 but already I have my first mount, done dozens of quests, explored, grouped with random people and even been in three raids. The raids... man. When you hear (or see) that rift opening up you better get your ass there ASAP for multiple reasons.

First and foremost: You're going to have the time of your life as soon as you join that public raid. The first one was maybe 9 people not too shabby. Thought, "this is sweet dude". The second was incredible. It popped up at one of the quest hubs and I could see it in the distance and a warning also came up on the map. Instantly I could see 12 (that I counted) people mount up and start charging across the tree bridge towards the rift. Holy hell. When I joined the raid there was over 15 of us beating down the invaders. What a rush it was. I began running "cata rhcs" in WoW about a week after cata's release and only did a tad of raiding because the time just wasn't there for me. I ran maybe 2-3 cata rhcs throughout the day and eventually I can only do it for so long. With these rifts it only gives the opportunity to jump in and out of raids with ease whenever the hell I want.

There is also currency to collect from destroying rifts. I am not exactly sure how it works I believe once the rift is destroyed and you collect the award the currency is included there. I have to double check. But it keeps us coming back for more.

I cannot wait to guild up and go rift hunting. It has the potential to be incredibly fun and with these and town invasions (was in my first right before leaving to work) the future can be bright and full of raging wars. :D

Because I am playing most during morning times I joined a US server so it is evening when everyone else plays so I have a chance to play with others.

Anyone else playing on US servers?

And there you have it folks ....

This IS the best MMO out there!

As for the currency fromt he Rifts, you get Planar Shards from defeating the stages of each rift, you get Corrupted Source Shards from beating "special stages" during Rifts IF they have one, and you ge Corrupted Soul Shards from defeating the Final Boss of the full scale invasions. Once collected you can take these to Rare Planar Vendors and purchase gear and item enhancements with them.

If anyones interested in kicking some ass you can find me and my G/F on the Shatterbone server in the Extortion guild. Or hit us up with a whisper Elemina and Ray are our character names.

My biggest grip with Rift is the artwork/desgin.. I was looking up the classes and 80% of them looked so tacky.
But hopefull it will be better ingame :).

So this is purchase the game itself from the store then pay a subscription either per month or 3/6 months?
