Appereance of Nothing
Just a start
I basically just went through my itunes and picked out bands I wanna see come back or play for the first time, though I tried to pick ones that hadnt played PP before. And of course some of the 4th could be 5th or 3rd could 4ths etc
Headliners (7): Annihilator, Helloween (old school set for a 25 year anniversary), Symphony X, Therion, Accept, Angra, Anathema, Blind Guardian, Nevermore,
5th slot (8): Arcturus, Candlemass (could headline), Dream Evil, Grave Digger, Mercenary,
4th slot (3): Anubis Gate, Deadsoul Tribe, Eldritch, Falconer, JSS, Lizzy Borden, Lost Horizon (Reunion), Mystic Prophecy, Narnia, Nightingale, Silent Force,
3rd slot (5): Adagio, Astral Doors, Biomechanical, Edenbridge, Heavenly, Persuader, Turisas, Woods of Ypres
2nd slot (10): Almah, Axxis, Bloodbound, Brother Firetribe, Cloudscape, Cryonic Temple, Dark Moor, Eidolon, Fairyland, Hangar, Harmony, Kiuas, Loch Vostok, Machine Men, Orden Ogan, Power Quest, Raintime, Red Circuit, Susperia
Opener (5): Aquaria, Avian, Black Majesty, Civilization One, Desperadoz, Dimension, Division By Zero, Egdend, Shadowside, Zephaniah
THIS! Especially Powermad! I have to hear "Nice Dreams" live before I leave this mortal coil (ooh, that's a good album name, "Before I leave This Mortal Coil")
There are a ton of bands in this list that I would LOVE to see. I'd like to add While Heaven Wept and Brave in here, though. I'd say WHW in slot #2, and Brave in slot #3. Give or take.
Who knew I'd like the way Biffle thinks?
Glad to see a mention of Kiuas in this thread. I'd be willing to sponsor them.
I'm such a noob to the metal scene that I find out about bands after they've already played or been booked for ProgPower, so I don't think I'd have a chance at really sponsoring many bands.
Other than maybe one of the local midwest bands in my signature, for an opening slot. Mindwarp Chamber was on the PPUSAX disc and I'd be willing to sponsor them if there's any interest from the rest of the PPUSA community.
Stream of Passion
Red Circuit - prog
Amaseffer - similar to the style of orphaned land
Devin Townsend if he's touring these days
Wednesday/thursday night - Trick or Treat (the band that was originally a helloween tribute band)
all the bands i'd normally recommend have already participated in the festival
Hardcore Superstar, Bobnoxious, and The Last Vegas!
And one of the many reasons why I fully support this festival and offer to put my money where my mouth is
Thanks again Glenn!
p.s. Let us know when we can put in sponsorship bids for PP XII
I really want to see HIBRIA or KIUAS.
My big wish-list:
Pink Cream 69
Royal Hunt (Since I missed them in '09)
Cornerstone (Seriously, why does no one seem to like this band?)
I really lean towards the more melodic end of the spectrum. My wish-list is:
Pretty Maids - Even if the rest of the weekend consists entirely of Menudo cover bands, PM will get me there.
Within Temptation - I know this has been attempted and failed, but I keep hoping.
Edenbridge - I really like a couple of their albums. Would love to see them in a #3 spot or so...
Shakra - Can't stop listening to Everest these days.
Gotthard - I think these guys would go over HUGE!
PC69 - I saw 'em at VI. Would love to see them again.
House of Lords
Last Autumn's Dream
Halestorm - Great female-fronted hard rock and they wouldn't have to fly very far.
PAIN OF SALVATION, Beyond Twilight, and 3!
AMEN to that!!!
I love that Equilibrium idea!
Also I would love to see Dragonland/Amaranthe, or Epidemia.
There is such a LONG list I could put up here but I will keep it simple and stick with just the bands that would be playing their first PP:
VENTURIA (I will keep screaming this till someone hears it)
Headliner or 5th slot band:
Cain's Offering (their album was unbelievably awsome plus they could play Strato/Sonata stuff)
Glenn as soon as I get some money these are who I want to sponsor
i'm probably asking for too much, but I would love to see something along the the lines of:
Savatage (yeah, i know...stfu!!)
Michael Kiske...in any shape or form
Awesome thread! Hmm headliners:
Hibria, Galneryus, Savage Circus, Stratovarius, Grave Digger and naturally, (what the hell), AVANTASIA.
That's just a headliner list. Some ther bands I would love to see are (among some already listed):
Dark Moor, Thunderstone, Powerwolf, Manticora, that most recent Tim Owens project, Dreamtale, Freedom Call, and Rhapsody of Fire.
