Yes amazingly there was a surprise Metallica show at SXSW. I got a text on my phone from one of the members of a band that I manage. He said, "Guess who's playing SXSW???". When he finally enlightened me I was floored! :OMG:

So I am determined to try to get in. We figure out that its most likely going to be at Stubbs which is a big venue at Red River and 8th St in Austin. This was around 5pm that we find this out. Finally due to the difficulty of rounding up all the band members we dont get there until 8pm. It was very frustrating. Needless to say there was a massive mob around the place. There were even people up in the parking structures across the street trying to peer in.

Lucky for me I bought a badge to the SXSW conference so I am told that I might be able to get in, if I wait in line. Unfortunately for my band none of them could get in. So the plan was they would try to listen from outside.

Anyway, I get in line and by 9:00pm I actually manage to get in! :kickass: I drank a few beers and by 9:30pm there was an MASSIVE crowd in the place. My iPhone couldnt take good pictures from where I was at but I could see the show very well. It was a great show and I am glad that I was lucky enough to attend. :headbang: I havent seen Metallica in many, many years. I think the last show I went to was them playing with Guns and Roses as the Rose Bowl. :|

Sorry I am just not good at keeping setlists. More into just getting into the Zone. It has to be published somewhere. Isnt it on the Metallica forums?

No worries, saw the set on Met On Tour.

I saw Priestess supporting Megadeth in 2007, they were pretty good!
