Haven't heard the TSO song but I think Prelude's original piece is from Verdi.

I believe V's Prelude is Romeo's version of Verdi's Requiem. I also recall some Bach in the middle of A Fool's Paradise.

I kind of wish Paradise Lost had some classical works "metalized" into it.

Oculus was original yet absolutely fantastic.

I also once listened to the Alternate Intro (or something like that, which is an alternate to Oculus) along with a sort of prelude to Sacrifice on a friend's iPod from the Japanese edition of PL, and both are amazing tracks to say the least. Not as 'powerful' as Oculus but they're absolutely beautiful.

MJR would seriously make one badass film/game score composer.

Edit: I'm going a bit off topic, but I do remember him saying (in an interview) that he'd be glad to give game scoring a shot, but not film scoring since that is very time-demanding. What the hell are game companies waiting for then?

I love Oculus, I just wish it was a few minutes longer.

I agree. One of the reasons I like Symphony X's sound so much is because it reminds me of a lot of video game scores. I'd love to see MJR compose a game score!

TSO opened with "Night Enchanted" at their show. I immediately thought "wait a minute..." It rocked, but I still enjoy Symphony X's take on the song more. Even though it's really short, it's so much more intense.

Same here, except it's the film score lover in me that makes me love V that much more. It's the album that equally satisfies both my love for film music and metal. If ever there was to be a movie made about Atlantis, I'd love to see MJR's name on the credits for the music.

As long as they keep putting a rockin' spin on those Christmas songs, I'll be looking forward to them. But in the mean time, it's good that we'll HOPEFULLY soon get to hear Night Castle.
