I really like the production on Birds of Tokyo's "Universes"
At the Gates - Blinded by Fear
In Flames - Pinball Map
Bleeding Though - Sister Charlatan
Soilwork - Stabbing the Drama
for metal. for non-metal:
Dr. Dre - The Cronic 2000 (the whole production is damn good)
Jace Everett - Bad Things
Goldfinger - 99 Red Balloons
I really like Andy Wallaces work, especially on Faith No Mores Evidence from King for a day, fool for a lifetime
I would just like to point out how pointless this thread is... mainly because no one will agree on any one song being the best. That is all.
no one will agree, true.
sometimes it's nice to see what others visions of 'perfect' musical products are. just like someone would look into their favorite guitarists influences and what they looked upon for inspiration.
god thats a hard one...
if i had to say one of my favorite produced albums (speaking about dynamics etc) has got to be...
machine head - the blackening
Hide and Seek by Imogen Heap sounds amazing.
Best song, that's a toughie, it would be a toss-up between
Devin Townsend: Truth
Strapping Young Lad: Skeksis
But the best producer imo is Devin Townsend.
That's my 0.02.
I like Sound Awake by Karnivool as an Album.
I always thought that sounded f'n weak. And I've seen Dokken three times, back in the day.
Well, its not Slayer.. i think its really full & rich sounding!
Sure youre not thinking about the EP/music video-version? Because it sounds much thinner then the recording on BFTA.
Sad But True from Metallica.
I remember playing the vinyl at my old home's HiFi... woooaaaaaahhhh!!!
17 years have passed since the release but still have boners.
.... and "Restless and Wild" album from ACCEPT is probably the best production achievement ever... fuck... it was 1982!
Behemoth - Evangelion (the only thing i would change is make the bass 2db louder apart from that IS AWESOME...the toms are fucking godlike)
Arch enemy - Doomsday machine
Septic Flesh - Communion (The orchestral parts are the best i have ever heard in a metal cd and the vocals are just perfect)
Behemoth - demigod (THE MOST AWESOME VOCALS EVER.PERIOD.)
Kreator - Enemy of god
Machine head - The blackening
Devildriver - The last kind words
As i lay dying - An ocean between us
At the gates - Slaughter of the soul (the production fits so perfectly with the music...but i wouldnt use it on another cd)
Trivium - Ascendancy
Kse - the end of heartache (love the guitar sound)
kse - kse (love the snare sound especially)
Dimmu borgir - Puritanical euphoric misanthropia
Bullet for my valentine - the poison
in flames - reroute to remain
Nightwish - Once
Opeth - Watershed
Powerwolf - Bible of the beast / Lupus dei (awesome fredrik nordstrom productions awesome orchestra/organ and fucking epic VOCALS)
Everything by Sascha Paeth (THE GOD OF POWER METAL productions) : Rhapsody (of fire) ,Luca turilli, Epica , Kamelot...
Blind guardian - Nightfall on the middle-earth
Turisas - The Varangian Way
Metallica - S&M ( i really wish they would have made a "real" metallica and symphony album instead of a live album...)
Vader - carnal
Dream evil - book of heavy metal
Mercenary - Firesoul
Dissection - Starless aeon
Andy timmons - gone (best guitar tone ever.)
Dimmu borgir - Progenies of the great apocalypse
Rammstein - Benzin (MESHUGGAH REMIX) oh my fucking god...SO FUCKING POWERFUL AND EPIC.
Queensryche: Operation Mindcrime & Empire (can´t decide which is best)
paramore's 'brand new eyes'
parkway drives 'horizons'
bullet's 'scream aim fire'
green day's '21st century breakdown'
kse's 2009 self titled
i'm in love with dr.luke's work on the song 'tik tok' by ke$ha
Dr. Luke is the new max martin.
And I think catharsis mentioned Gaga earlier. He's right the new version of bad romance is great.

Dillinger Escaple Plan - Calculating Infinity (just raw and real... no modern sound though)
Ion Dissonance - Minus The Herd (just br00tl)
Porcupine Tree - deadwing/in absentia
Skindred - Roots Rock Riot (rock n roll)
