saw the trailer when i went to see Joker last week and it looked like shit. LOOK! THEY IZ FEMALE TERMINATORZ. ugh
yeah it was cool. They again tried fucking with the actual history of the characters a few times but overall i'd say they did a good job sticking to the source. The closest anyone has come to nailing the real Joker from the books. I have it up there with Nolans first two films.
Oh wow that's interesting considering a few people here have had complaints exactly to the contrary, that they did a bad job capturing Joker from the books. Man I really need to see it already.
whoever said that probably isnt too familiar with the Joker from the books. I bet those same guys also think Ledgers version was closer to the real Joker? Dont get me wrong ... im not saying who was the better actor because they both did a great fucking job(but if i had to choose i would go with Ledger), but Joaquin was literally right out of the books at times ... something Ledgers somewhat unique take on the character pretty much never was. edit: btw i have to go back on what i said earlier but since i've only seen it once i cant really put it up where with Nolans first two, definitely need to see it again when it gets released on blu ray
joker is basically just the king of comedy with a bit too much v for vendetta edginess, i quite liked it though dark fate on the other hand is absolute garbage
i especially liked the part when Spoiler the good (half-)terminator says "come with me or you'll be dead in 30 seconds", or the part when arnie says "i won't be back" to the nice mexican family he lives with now he's "grown a conscience".
I thought Terminator: Dark Fate was fine. It reminded me of the way people complained that Star Wars: The Force Awakens was essentially a re-do of the original movie. That's pretty much what the new Terminator movie is. It's not breaking any new ground and yes, there was no subtlety in their wink-wink to their past with some dialogue but it was still a better movie than any of the Terminator films after T2: Judgement Day.
Tried to be charitable toward Dark Fate. It was passable while I was watching it and in hindsight gets worse the more I think about it. I liked the cast but the material is just so fucking bad. You brought back Linda Hamilton just to have her deliver zingers like "because we're not machines, you metal motherfucker"? Just ugh. https://twitter.com/mangiotto/status/1188483563517120512
Comparing it to The Farce Awakens has just put me in full depression mode. I had some hopes for Dark Fate, still gonna see it but I guess I'll wait until it's out of the cinema circuit.
sounds about right ... but lets not forget the Joker was all about dat anarchy way before alan moore was.
Just came here to say I quite liked the new Terminator, but I’m far from a film critic, I see like 5 movies a year. It was badass.
if you actually read the Twilight books you realize that he was actually a great actor in the actual Twilight films he was doing a really great job at portraying a horribly-written character i could be a better writer than Stephanie Meyer while i'm high-as-a-kite
Watched Bram Stoker's Dracula for the first time in ages. I'd forgotten how magnificent it is... Also the new Terminator was several orders of magnitude better than Terminator Genysis or however the fuck they spelled it. Wait, so...he bangs his stepmom? Um...scratches head...I mean its a popular category on PornHub iirc
A pissed on VHS copy of Sleepless in Seattle that doesn't even work the whole way through is several orders of magnitude better than Terminator Genysis.
