hmmm... never heard of them, but I downloaded the track on this thread and liked it. I was just surprised to see that they were from Windsor, which is literally right next door to Detroit. I'm gonna have to keep an eye out for them... and maybe order that demo...

I'm sure it's a signing, but with who? The End? Prophecy? Sony? :loco:

"Toronto is awesome! Just awesome! I may be able to announce the new
and ever so solid lineup by next week! We've had a great response and
have already been jamming on the new stuff...

So yes, new material is well underway. I hope to have the new CD out
for the Norther Lights Festival at the end of June here in Toronto."

Mr Gold posted this over at TER:

The new Woods of Ypres CD will be titled "Pursuit of the Sun & Allure of the Earth". It will be a full length (40 mins +), 7 song, summer themed album of dark, black metal with emotional doom and bright, shining acoustic passages. The writing is now complete and the songs are currently being rehearsed. We are booked to record later this spring and plan to have the new CD available from our website in June, pressed and packaged. Expect something very special both on CD and when you come to see us live as these new songs are heavy on the heart, and were definately MEANT for the live environment!

Surely one of the most loved unsigned bands in the underground?

Seriously, it would be worth RC setting up an independant label just to sign or distro them! I'm not sure how silly that sounds in reality, but you get the sentiment. :)

This sounds very good and the most important thing is, that it doesn't sound a direct copy of any band.

hmm, very Agalloch-ish and early Ulver-ish. The first song didn't do much for me, but that second one is really quite a damn fine song. I really, really dig that track.
