I may have successfully repaired my air mattress.

I may get a decent sleep tonight instead of being a cranky fucker.

I'm ecstatic because Deron merged my accounts. I had lost the ability to access my old account a long time ago and didn't have the email address anymore. He kept forgetting to do it.

My hometown in Maine's community association just gave me a $250 educational stipend, because I'm so smart.

    Somewhat necro'd

So, I applied for a job in IT at my employer and accepted the offer Thursday afternoon. It is for a job that I am basically doing now, but I'll have a title I can actually explain to people and more pay and won't have to deal with external clients.

However, there's some back story. There was a team created for a particular administration system we use (on which I'm considered the expert at work). This is a system used to make changes to a person's account and such. The system was implemented too early and has lots of bugs and my job was to learn the system by myself inside and out 2 years ago.

Anyway, someone on this team designed to teach others how to use the system decided to apply for this position and I knew this would happen which is why I didn't apply for it initially. He was offered the job but countered the offer and asked for more money and said 'Make it worth my while'. Well, of course he offered too much and the VP rejected the offer so this motherfucker decided to blow them off. As a result, I picked up that fumble and ran it in for a touchdown because I begin working in that position in two weeks.

To be the man, you gotta beat the man

I haven't watched any of the US Open this year since I rarely sit and watch TV. I'll have to watch the highlights on YouTube. I'm glad he won just to keep Djokovic away from Federer's record :p. I'm quite shocked that Murray lost to Nishikori.

I wonder how Federer will be after recovering from this injury.

djokovic totally fell apart physically, doesn't bode well for the future. he's approaching that age now when it'll get harder.

wawrinka's now just a wimbledon title away from the career grand slam (something sampras, borg, mcenroe, connors, lendl, wilander, becker, edberg etc never achieved). i know it's easier to do these days but still, pretty nuts

I wish people would stop saying this. We're in an era with 3 all time greats still playing, one widely regarded as the greatest player ever. You could argue they all hit their peaks at different points I guess. Look at Sampras' grand slam final wins, quite a few of those aren't against particularly notable opponents. It's also a lot more physically demanding these days than ever before.

what i said was nothing to do with the strength of the era tbf (this has clearly been one of the strongest ever if not the strongest), i meant that the surfaces are all way more similar. winning on grass used to be a totally different proposition to winning on hard courts etc, it isn't anymore. winning the career slam used to mean more because it required more facets/diversity to your game.

Oh, I apologise then. I guess I'm just too use to reading trolls talk about how Feds, Nadal and Djok have had an easy time which is why they have so many grand slams.

I tend to agree with what that then. Although I do think that clay is still different enough that some players still struggle with it. It's also the only surface that you really hear players being called "specialists" at anymore.

Some players also didn't bother with the Australian back then as well. I think Borg only went there once?
