I'd be really curious to hear other peoples Top 10, 15, 20 favorite songs from 2014. I thought it was a really strong year in Metal though I'll be the first to admit I haven't fully digest some of the top releases like Edguy & Sonata Arctica.

Anyway, here's my 10 favorite songs of the year and a few that I'm sure will raise some eyebrows.

    Top 10 Favorite Songs 2014
    1. While Heaven Wept – Icarus & I (There wasn’t even a close 2nd)
    2. Kissin Dynamite – DNA
    3. Suncrown – The Beginning In Near
    4. Nonpoint – Breaking Skin (They are my guilty pleasure and just seem to get better with each release)
    5. Asia – Valkyrie (IMO one of their best songs since Alpha)
    6. Voyager – Hyperventalating
    7. Binary Creed – Dominion
    8. Amaranthe – Drop Dead Cynical
    9. Black Label Society – Angel of Mercy
    10. Helix – Bastard of the Blues (Dark horse pick…best thing they’ve done hands down since Walkin The Razor's Edge)

Hard to list my favorite songs of the year in order, so I'll just list those at the top of my head (I've only included 2014 releases):

    Overkill - Bitter Pill
Machine Head - Now We Die
    Mastodon - Aunt Lisa
    Gamma Ray - Avalon
    Judas Priest - Battle Cry
    Teramaze - The Divulgence Act
Iced Earth - If I Could See You

Holy Crap love that tune from Gamma Ray.

Also, forgot about the song Schizophrenic from Jaded Heart. What a great tune! Both would make my top 10 if I did it over again.

Jaded Heart rules! The whole album smokes (like the last couple ones before).

That whole disc is so sadly overlooked and underrated. Definitely one of the best hard rock discs of 2014 - if not THE best.
