Katatonia - Night Is The New Day
Alice in Chains - Black Gives Way to Blue
Hypocrisy - Taste of extreme divinity

I've been generally unimpressed with releases this year.
Korpiklaani's Karkelo is probably my favorite release this year. Insomnium's Across the Dark would be awesome if it weren't for the guest vocalist but I do love all the songs that he's not in. Other than that there's nothing worth mentioning from 09 imo.

As for the decade (with only one album per band and in no particular order):
Children of Bodom - Follow the Reaper
    Kalmah - The Black Waltz
Insomnium - Since the Day It All Came Down
    Imperanon - Stained
    Norther - Mirror of Madness
    Korpiklaani - Korven Kunningas
    Opeth - Ghost Reveries

    2009 (no particular order):

Alestorm - Black Sails At Midnight
    Paramore - Brand New Eyes
    Vader - Necropolis
    Warmen - Japanese Hospitality
Steel Panther - Feel The Steel
Dream Theater - Black Clouds And Silver Linings
Crucified Barbara - Till Death Do Us Party
    Aggression - Moshpirit
Children Of Bodom - Skeletons In The Closet
    Kreator - Hordes Of Chaos

2000 decade (again no particular order):

Children Of Bodom - Hate Crew Deathroll
    Sonata Arctica - Silence
    Destruction - The Antichrist
    Offspring - Conspiracy Of One
    Racer X - Technical Difficulties
Sinergy - Suicide By My Side
Nile - Annihilation Of The Wicked
    Nevermore - Enemies Of Reality
    Dream Theater - Systematic Chaos
    Paramore - Riot
Vader - The Art Of War (EP)
Arch Enemy - Revolution Begins (EP) [Yes I prefer the EP to the album]
    Alestorm - Captain Morgan's Revenge

And most of 2009's could have made the 2000 list for me too.
