I'll concentrate on the harder albums here.

    Savages - Silence Yourself
    Deafheaven - Sunbather
    Vallenfyre - Spinters
Old Man Gloom - Ape of God

As you can see, I like productions that have that live vibe

    Holy necrobump Batman!

    But while i'm here...
Karnivool - Sound Awake (Those textures, hnng)
Machine Head - The Blackening/Bloodstone and Diamonds
Alice in Chains - Black Gives Way to Blue (BEST. DRUMS. EVER.)
    Trivium - Ascendancy (Guitars!)

And unpopular opinion time.... Load is better than the black album MIX WISE. It's like the Black album, but so much beefier.

Also, Slipknot's self titled/ Iowa. Ugly mixes for ugly music. Perfect example of mixing to fit the character of the music.

Gotta agree with Sound Awake. From Mars To Sirius for sure, if you want pure fucking brutality/grit.

    Mother of all resurrections...
but while we're at it iv'e noticed how the amount of times the black album was mentioned here is directly proportional to the slander Metallica takes on the internet

I totally agree with you on that one. Load isn't even that bad album when it comes to the music. It shouldn't even be compared to the Metallicas older albums, because it's more a hard rock record than metal record.
