What are some peoples' truely great albums? My definition of this is; and album that you have heard many times and always/usually listen to it from beginning to end (rather than skipping certain tracks etc.)

Opeth - My Arms, Your Hearse.. - Now when i say this, i mean with the ORIGINAL track listing. I don't acknowledge Circle of the Tyrant becuase i can't stand it and Remember tomorrow is.. alright, but both songs take away from the feel the concept album creates, so they were a dumb idea.
    Ayreon - THE
    Nevermore - DHIADW
Agalloch - The Mantle, Pale Folklore

There's a few more, but when you close down the category to albums you'd listen to start to finish every time, it becomes a pretty small list IMO. What brought this up is that i hate hit-and-miss albums. You get a lot of these in hip-hop, where they seem to create 2-3 songs that are great, and become singles, and the rest just takes up space.

Iced Earth - Something Wicked This Way Comes & Burnt Offerings (both absolutely amazing albums, very consistant)
Ulver - Shadows of the Sun (a new one yeah, but I definitely think this is a much more enjoyable experience when listening to the whole thing, and there's not a bad moment on it)
I'd like to say Be'lakor and Ne Obliviscaris' debuts as well, although they aren't full length albums.

But yeah, there aren't a whole lot of albums that I usually listen to all the way through regularly.

For me, I think it would be:

    Natural Born Chaos - Soilwork
    Rage For Order - Queensryche
    Operation Mindcrime - Queensryche
    Hellfire Club - Edguy

... hmmm... I'm sure there's more. I have plenty of other albums I'd rate as high as those ones but there's usually one or two songs that I do skip on an otherwise brilliant record (and not necessarily because they're shit songs, but just not as good as the other songs I'd prefer to listen to).

I really want to put Coldplays new album up there... but i just can't stand 'rain of love' and it's right in the middle of the album! See the idea of this thread to is to appreciate albums as an whole.. if you have to skip ONE song then the album isn't being appreciated as a whole. So that makes it hard. And it reflects true genius.

Anathema - Alternative 4. - One of THE most impacting albums on my life, a had some down and out times in some past years and this was always spinning (probably for the worst

British Steel would have made it for me too, but I can't stand "United". I guess I should also add Master of Reality by Black Sabbath.
