Turns out a HM-2 into a Soldano SLO100 is a great idea

If you want to create a disgustingly violent guitar tone of death.

Tried this out today, went vastly better than I expected. I'm trying to think of new tones / sounds rather than the usual thing for modern metalcore, hope this works come mix time!

No post processing so it's pretty full on in the low-end.

Chain was; Esp Horizon w/ blackouts, HM-2, Soldano, Marshall 1960A w/ greenbacks, BAE 1073DMP.

Edit: Silly me didn't look at the model of the head (it's not mine), turns out it's a Hot Rod 50.

As op said, no post processing , so that's why it feels a bit boomy and fizzy .

Sounds awesome Matt. Very full, I imagine it'll sound huge in a mix. Who's this for?

A band from Perth called pending the silence, they're part of that whole nu-metal influenced metal core thing going on at the moment, think bands like Sworn In but really fucking angry. I decided to go weird on the tones to attempt to bring out some more of that aggression.
