    Doom is called doom because of its dirgeish sound and its lyrics focus on dreary, depressive, inevitably negative circumstances.

    Ozzy is called The Ozzman because "Ozz" is a partial of his nickname "Ozzy."

    Marshall amps are preferred in metal because they're loud.

    Chuck Schuldiner could play in the key of F minor.

    Pantera weren't initally a groove metal band.

    Dave Mustaine used to be a part of Metallica, but he was too good to waste his prodigious talent in a minor band, so he went on to form Megadeth.
