So the Waves Q10 Equalizer is on offer today and is a no brainer really for $29.
My question is, do I even need this plugin? Will it be better than the stock Cubase eq? I'm basically trying to justify the purchase somehow so help me out lol

The interface is really great, really simple to use, which makes the workflow faster.
    I wouldn't regret spending 29$ on this plug-in.

Better than the stock cubase eq yes. Better than a lot of other eqs? debatable.

One thing that rules about this plugin is that it has a Q of 100, which is perfect for completely notching out nasty frequencies.

It's always been my main EQ, I think it's very musical (not surgical), but the GUI in it is so frustratingly small..

Yep. Waves doesn't require an ilok anymore.
