AIC is awesome, but he shouldn't waste his talent when he already has a band that is even better! PS: You shou ld change the thread title to "Would..." and then you can ask in the thread ... it be a good idea for Mikael to join AIC? Cause they have a song called Would which Opeth covered lololol get it?! I'm a genius.
all due respect to akerfeldt, the cover sucks compared to the original.. though that may be only my opinion. bridge of sighs is a waaaaayyy better cover
The cover doesn't suck at all. It's just plaing boring, cause it pretty much follows the original in nearly every way (ok the solo is slightly different, but that's it). Doesn't make you want to listen to it again.
akerfeldts voice doesn't suit the song at all, it doesn't have the aggression present in staley's. plus your point too
There's a guy named Eddie Ellis that should have been the one to replace Staley. His original band, Haji's Kithchen, is a mix of a funky Pantera, and AIC. Eddie has also appeared on the first James Murphy solo album, Convergence. He sounds exactly like Staley.
