I don't really think that many AMAZING albums were released in 2002, but the ones I really, really loved are:

Alex Skolnick - Goodbye To Romance (check this out, former Testament/Savatage guitarist's solo instrumental project: website)

I heard Rage - Unity is amazing. Good things about Space Metal as well.

Dream Theater's Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence took time to get used to but it's a deep album.

Blind Guardian's A Night at the Opera totally impressed me with its production and Hansi's overly great vocal performance.

Soilwork's new one was a total let-down to me.

The new Sentenced was a step ahead of Crimson but definitely not as dark as Frozen which is a minues IMO.

Tad Morose's Matters of the Dark is cool but I like Undead better. Same goes for Nightwish's Century Child. It's good, it's different but can't compete with either Oceanborn or Wishmaster.

I've heard part of the new Dark Tranquillity and was blown away. That goes back to their old Gallery days. Coolness. I've also yet to hear the new WASP and Nile.

    At Vance - Only Human
    Dream Evil - Dragonslayer
    Morifade - Imaginarium

    Beto Vazquez's Infinity
Rhapsody - Power of the Dragonflame
    Shaman - Ritual
Angra - Hunters and Prey (even if it is an EP)

Most anticipated releases for 2002/2003 :headbang:
