It's the only Emperor album I like
Anthems is too disjointed and chaotic for its own good imo. There's no sole focus to the compositions and they suffer for it.
Who even listen to Emperor anyway? I mean I don't mind In the Nightside, but still...
Honestly haven't listened to much emperor, listened to their first album as a begginer in black metal half a year ago
Demo and the EP are essential listening.
As is the case with basically every band.
In general, i follow that rule with old school stuff, not much with the modern bands
I like all of Emperors work, and the newer material gets more plays even though I recognize that Nightside is probably the best overall.
Anthems was my first BM album that I've heard and really enjoyed. I love Anthems even till this day. "Night spirt! Spirt! SPIRIT! Embrace my souuuuuuuuulllll!"
Haha, my introduction to BM was Emperor's live DVD, Emperial Live Ceremony, back when I was like 12 or 13.
first was Darkthrones Transylvanian hunger
Sad Legend self-titled and Darkthrone - Under a Funeral Moon for me
i heard anthems before anything else but i barely consider it BM, otherwise DMDS and UAFM. burzum was what got me hooked though (at a lan party lel).
DMDS was the first I got, but I bought UAFM later the same day (got home, gave DMDS a spin then went back to the store again).
Under A Funeral Moon was my first black metal shit.
No no forum members, i find this forum pretty damn annoying more than anything, I was 31 when I joined on here with with about 15 years of serious music collecting and I don't like it TBH. Not interested in downloading albums that aren't available anymore or being a part of some book club for music where we all sit around and discuss an album but that's only because things were different when I was young. I don't need to get recs although it's a nice gesture.
That's nice and all, but what is your favorite Milli Vanilli song?
It's hard to say probably the one that everyone else likes.
