So, since there's so little activity here I thought I'd spice it up a little.

    What's your favourite Mats moment?

As a guitarist myself I find Mats' playing great!
He's got a little Petrucci going on but I think that really through his use of slides and whammy bar he's a pretty distinctive player!

    Anyway back on topic.

I love the solo in "Ultimate Sacrifice" and especially the unison that sets in at around 3:53. This freaks me out so much.
Furthermore I think "Arrival Of Love" has some of the best rhythm playing I've ever heard.

favourite moments? so many!!! very tight rhythm playing overall is a highlight i think. the solo in "alive" has made me think more about playing for the song. i think mats shows the most important aspects of playing-playing for the song.

With a new album, there's a new favourite moment on "Nine"!
I think the guitar solo is absolutely amazing, especially the machine gun effect in the beginning.
Would love to see original tabs of this, hint hint Mats??

Seeing his soloes flawlessly executed live on June 23rd. "Nine" came alive even more on the stage. A fantastic job indeed. I hope they'll get the opportunity to do some longer shows soon! :)

Haha I forgot to mention I was talking about the guitar solo on "Game Of Life".
I also think "I Am" has amazing guitarwork in general, especially the rhythm parts and the unison.

No disrespect to John Petrucci, but Mats is a far better and more modern guitar player ;)
