ya they've steadely declined since SftD which was legend
Their first four albums were so fucking strong...SFTD being in my top 10 albums of all time...
Era Vulgaris just didn't even come close.
all the soul savers albums especially this new one "Broken" Far surpass Queens of the stone age, go buy the album, its on par with Night is the New day if you ask me, 2 different kinds of music but great nonetheless
That's a negatory on all accounts.
Katatonia-Night is the new Day
Insomnium-Across the dark
Slayer-World painted blood
Hypocrisy-a taste of extreme divinity
Immortal-all shall fall
and I hear the new Swallow the sun is great, so I plan on picking that up soon
1)black heart procession-6
1)porcupine tree-the incident(i find this really boring...i expected more after the godly fear of a blank planet)
2)my dying bride-for lies i sire(boring, boring and boring....i suggest them leave behind metal and play more mellow music...from a huge MDB fan )
Hmm, it was the first MDB album I really enjoyed since TLATEOTW.
Mastodon - Crack The Skye
Devin Townsend - Ki
Devin Townsend - Addicted
Dream Theater - Black Clouds And Silver Linings
Ubuntu 9.04 I must say also
Lists need more Mournful Congregation.
9.10 kicks 9.04´s ass any day.
(although i´d go with win 7 > snow leo > ubuntu in terms of awesome newness)
1. Soulfallen - Grave new world.
2. Scar Symmetry - Dark matter dimmensions.
3. Wine From Tears - Through the eyes of the mad.
4. The Morningside - Moving crosscurrent of time.
5. Paradise Lost - Faith devides us, death unites us
6. Katatonia - Night is the new day.
7. Swallow the sun - New Moon
8. Novembers Doom - Into nights requim....
9. Dark the suns - All ends in silence.
10. Amorphis - Skyforger.
11. Insomnium - Across the dark.
12. Agathodaimon - Phoenix.
It was hard to get into at first, but in my case, it really sunk in after 5-10 listens and now I think it's great.
I thought The Incident was a huge letdown. The Blind House and I Drive the Hearse were the only songs I liked.
New Swallow the Sun seems really dry to me.

Too bad they are still playing the same type of music but none of it comes anywhere near their 90's albums, it's all so drab
Katatonia - night... (amazing release)
Drudkh - microcosmos (another great album from drudkh)
maudlin of the well - part the second (god i hate kayo dot, this is the good stuff)
immortal - all shall fall (the epicness hath returned)
solstafir - kold (this is very moving)
wolves in the throne room - black cascade (great band great album)
samael - above (redemption for all those shit albums after passage)
gorgoroth (more subdued than expected but i like it)
ahab - divinity of oceans (funeral doom masterpiece)
My Dying Bride (boooooring)
Amorphis (some songs work others fail and sound cheesy)
Katatonia - Night is the New Day (Its simply amazing!)
Alice In Chains - Black Give Ways to Blue (I love it!)
Amorphis - Skyforger (Great, better than the last one)
Guilt Machine - On This Perfect Day (Discovery of the year for me)
Porcupine Tree - The Incident (Didnt like it at all at first, a disappointment, after seeing it live it became like a new album, i love it now)
Swallow The Sun - New Moon (The "new" BM screams is awesome, more of that! The blastbeats was a surprise)
Samael - Above (This took a long time to grow, its awesome)
Immortal - All shall fall (grim, groovy)
Paradise Lost - Faith devides us, death unites us (I doubt this one will get much better with time)
Riverside - Anno Domini High Definition
Hypocrisy - ATOED (Big step back from Virus, boring riffs, sounds like leftovers. It has a few good tracks)
The absence of a new Anathema-album, get your shit together and release the fucker allready!!!
my thoughts exactly, horror pt 3 has that one part thats pure black sound, and he does that screeching perfectly.
Them Crooked Vultures!!
I'd actually classify Night is the New Day as a disappointment... I didn't like too many cds this year.
