Mastodon FTL!
Haha Mike, I love ya.

I think what Mastodon are doing now is more interesting than anything Slayer has done for the past 10-15 years is all

And besides, I never heard any concept albums about Moby Dick from the early 90's? And that's what I'm interested in the most - the concepts, fresh ideas. Theres only so much talk of bloodshed, brutality and severed limbs before I start to say "Meh".

On that note, Reign in Blood > anything Mastodon has done

Maybe Mastodons good driving music or something. The bands Mastodon remind me of were.
While concept albums are nothing new in the metal world, Ill give you that no ones done a Moby Dick concept yet... that Im aware of anyway (Zeppelins song had nothing to do with the whale).
I think their ideas and concepts are good, but theyre lacking a quality vocalist/songwriter imo.

Love you too Mr Happy Feet!

Show No Mercy > Reign In Blood
Actually Slayer stopped writing about bloodshed and brutality after Reign In Blood. I've never heard Mastodon so i shall refrain entering the who is better debate.

OK, thanks Todd. You made me refrain from saying. "Mastodon is the worst band ever" by presenting me with a band that is far worse.

I love you.

Speaking of Slayer... it's weird having guys ring up and request MurderWorld and say "dude I reckon they're the new Slayer" etc etc
