Ferret, I know some heartless people that would find a wallet with that much money and just take the money and dump the wallet. It's very sad that they have no heart and would consider theft (technically theft because your contact details would be in there).

If I found a wallet with that much cash I'd give it all back in one piece, that would be so dog to take it.

It's funny you mention that.... I remember reading about a study that a couple of uni students did where they'd "lose" a wallet with $50, never to see it again. BUT then they'd lose one with $500 and it would be turned in to police.

Some people (read SOME) see the larger amount and get paranoid about it being drug money or the like haha

That, plus the whole "meh there's only $20 here, not even worth the effort of tracking someone down" factor. $900 is a bit more worth the effort, and more likely to garner a reward in favour.

They gave several reasons why people handed back the larger sums of money... most came back to either feeling guilty/sorry for the person who lost it, fear of it being crime money and being tracked down or just good old fashioned human kindness

Id probably look at the guys license, if he looked like a hard cunt or something, id do the same. Otherwise, i dunno what i would do. It would pay a large part of my plane ticket to go see maiden, i would probably just take it thinking it was karma. Depends on the situation tho.

I agree with you. ^ I would contemplate it, knowing myself, but in the end i seriously couldn't take any amount of money off someone without their permission. I would feel so bloody guilty. I just put myself in their shoes, and i wouldn't want anyone taking my money. Do one to others as you would like them to do unto you.
