To Holmgard and Beyond is thw most similar a track off Battle Metal, so it would [maybe] take first place. I didn't like Cursed be Iron when I first heard it; now I fucking love it. In the Court of Jarisleif is just a great track and you can tell it'd be awesome live. Miklagard Overture...
I didn't vote as I cannot choose.

I've got the Director's Cut and there's no option for Rasputin....
Of the main album, Jarisleif or Miklagard Overture. I tend to be dangerous listening to the latter loudly.

Five Hundred and One
"Long is the way to the unknown, Long is the way we have come; At the head of the ships a horn was blown, We sailed off with the morning sun... Five Hundred and One..."

Just voted now. God this was hard... I had to go for In the Court of Jarisleif because I love it.
![]() ![]() I'd love to see a video of the song but seeing as it's a 'Rasputin' B-side that's unlikely to happen ![]()

For me it's a really tough decision between Miklagard Overture and Five Hundred and One. Even though the whole album is amazing, those 2 songs really stand out to me because of the huge amount of EPIC running through them. In the end I'm a sucker for long epic tracks, so I vote for Miklagard overture.
Even though I didn't like the female choir at the end of the song at first (didn't know the lyrics back then and I felt Nygard should have ''ended the album''), I grew to love it and... it's just so damn awesome. A great end to a solid story and an amazing album. |
